The beginning
Hello! With everything going on in the world right now. I thought documenting my families time at home might be fun!
Background: My husband and I have been together for 18 years and married for 12. Serenity is going to be 12 in a few months. We got her right after we got married! I am a preschool teacher working with a great Head Start program and have been teaching for 11 years (4 at the Head Start Program). My husband works IT (forever) for a national company (2 years here, programming, help desk, development, actually the list is quiet long).
The lead up: The week of the full moon, the time change, and a Friday the 13th was a very rough week at work for me. The flu had been running rampant through the program, my TA was out sick and subs kept canceling! It was a fly by the seat of your pants kinda week! When I left work Friday, I figured the main stress with work had to be over.
Now we had heard about Covid-19, and had made sure we had our supplies (nothing extra, we always have a decent collection on hand for if people come by). Honestly, my husbands family was coming in on Monday and that was my main focus.
Sunday comes and I find out that my program is closed for the next 2 weeks. Okay, this sucks royally! I love my job and my kids. I get a hold of all my families and give them a rundown on what going on and how to keep in contact with me during this time. Promise daily updates and videos for the kids!
My husband goes to work on Monday like normal and I clean getting ready for family that night. (I know, why they still came with everything going on.... ) They left on Wednesday and honestly it was pretty blurred together; we just hung out at home the whole time and chatted. But with the worsening situation, they canceled the 2nd half of the trip and went back to Oklahoma.
Thursday my husband is at work for 30 mins before he says to come get him. He is now working from home in the make shift office in the guest room. Not to bad of a setup honestly, I just have to remember to not bug him all day!
So this is what began this crazy self-isolation we are in .
