Preparing for shelter-in-place
When the governor issues a warning for 24 hours before a shelter-in-place order your heart kinda stops. 😨😨
Do you have enough of ______? Your mind starts to race through the list of essential items needed for a situation like this. I realized that while we were okay, there were a few things that could make this situation better.
My husband and I went to the store 35 mins after the issues and it was pure pandemonium. Now we know we were adding to the problem, but I knew the longer we wanted the worse it would get. For as many people as there were, everyone was pretty pleasant.
We got, basically, protein, munchies, and booze. Before you start posting "Those are not essentials, your putting others at risk....", everyone needs to deal with this situation the best way they can. We have great variety of healthy food to make some great meals, but were lacking some day to day items. Also thanks to the local Produce Depot I have a great amount of fresh produce.
Then this morning when I ran to Target and grabbed one more thing of TP just to be safe and a few things for lunches (some reason I had spaced other meals besides dinner). After an inventory of everything I feel confident that my husband and I will be able to follow the shelter-in-place directive very effectively. Our goal is to not go to a store for the duration of this situation.
After then sanitizing the car, the door handles and any other surfaces that I touched after the store, I was able to relax. And it was 8 am. 😁
I messaged my kids and shared the fact it is National Scribble day! I needed that relaxing fun post to help ease the stress of the situation. Plus, who doesn't like to just scribble sometimes.
I also got to paint some today! Really helped me get out of my head!!
